The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Bachelor trains students to become developers by combining theory with practice in laboratories throughout the study. Right from the first year students can specialise in Embedded Systems or Industrial and Power Systems.

The Bachelors course in Electrical and Electronic Engineering will give you the innovative edge that sets you apart from the rest. This 4-year, full-time course, taught entirely in English, trains you to work in 1 of 2 main fields:

  • Industrial and Power Systems
  • Embedded Systems

Embedded Systems focuses on the design, built and testing of intelligent systems and smart devices. It is all about combining hardware, software and technology, like in Google Glass, smart fridges and interactive games to name a few. The Industrial and Power Systems specialisation focuses on smart solutions in industrial automation, electrical systems/drives and electricity transmission.

The course offers students the possibility to do a work placement abroad or in the Netherlands for 6 months. A semester is also dedicated to following a minor at a partner university or at HAN (Embedded Vision Design, Power Minor). The final step is the graduation assignment, which is involves solving a real-life issue at a company.

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering course has broad subjects and modules such as: Introduction to Electronics, Logic circuits, Programming C, Microcontrollers, Network, etc..

The Embedded Systems specialisation is comprised of subjects such as: Digital system design, Control systems, Object oriented programming, Interfacing, Operating systems, Data communication, Digital signal processing, etc..

The Industrial and Power Systems specialisation is comprised of subjects such as: Energy transport, Generation od sustainable energy, Motors and drives, Control Systems, PLC-programming, Systems modelling, Power electronics, Digital signal processing, etc..

  • Embedded software/hardware developer: in a multidisciplinary team he/she develops innovative electronic products using microcontrollers to build a high-tech product.
  • Industrial Automation developer: designs, simulates, programs and test automated machinery and processes.
